Pretty Dandy is an independent boutique dedicated to helping you find those 'special pieces' for your home. We look for products which offer something a bit different and our collection includes new designers and classic vintage pieces.
Our home accessories are creative and colourful, with an eye for a quirky detail, so you can create an inspiring and original home.
Things we love include:
- 50's patterns
- bold colours
- anything cut and printed by hand
- contemporary illustration
- the texture a vintage item picks up over the years
* Not strictly related, but we really do love puppies.
Some of our favourite finds over the years are:
- wall lights which are origami versions of hunter's trophies
- a vintage poodle salt & pepper set
- candleholders made from recycled vintage tins & trophies
- flamingo lampshades. Because flamingoes are always cool.
Join us on our interiors adventure, be bold and let your home tell your story.
What we do
Our online shop is stocked with star items, beautiful homewares that speak to you. If you're looking for contemporary lighting and lampshades then we've got a great selection for you, or if vintage kitchenwares are more your thing then have a browse through our collection. Here's a selection of what we offer:
We love and live design and interiors, from spotting a perfect pattern on a tiled floor to discovering a new maker. Nothing makes us happier and we share our passion for design, tips, inspiring interiors and How To guides on our blog here.
We also organise events in various venues around Nottingham. The Pretty Dandy Flea events are big craft & vintage parties, with stallholders, music, workshops and - most importantly - cake. Read more and look out for the next one here.
Orders are dispatched from the UK, speedily and well-packaged to ensure your parcel arrives quickly and in perfect condition. You can find our delivery charges here, where you can see that all orders over £50 are delivered free of charge.
If you want to get in touch with us to say hello or ask a question, just email firstname.lastname@example.org - we'd love to hear from you. Or feel free to join us on twitter or say 'hello' on Facebook.
A bit of history
First established in 2011 we were based in Nottingham, which is a city with one of the highest numbers of artists per capita in the whole country. We like to think a little bit of that creativity inspired us to do what we do. We are now located in Barcelona - another wonderful artistic city! - with orders still sent out from the UK.
A word from our founder on where (and why) it all began
"I decided to set up Pretty Dandy when I realised that the thing I have been most inspired and fulfilled by has been creating my home. My home is the place that cocoons me, energises me, inspires me and, most importantly, expresses something about who I am and what is important to me.
My interiors style is eclectic, vintage, somewhat obsessive, generous, colourful, and free from rules and that informs the Pretty Dandy collections.
It can be easy to find the big pieces for your house – a sofa, table, bed etc – but the small details, the colour, life and individuality, is harder to come by. Pretty Dandy is a place where vintage crockery for a gorgeous afternoon tea sits beside a striking contemporary origami-inspired wall light and a hand-knitted cushion.
I love art, design and interiors. I started customising furniture when I was a teenager. I bought my first piece of art with my pocket money when I was about 11 years old. My first interiors purchase (for a home I didn't even have yet) was a 1960's wicker hanging chair. It's in my blood.
Over the years I've tried my hand at everything from linocut printing to machine embroidery, still life photography, found object collage and knitting. I love nothing more than a good trawl through an antiques market or a leisurely visit to a craft fair. Luckily now I can bring my knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to seeking out perfect pieces and special finds for Pretty Dandy, rather than having to find room for them at home!"
